Sanjh Sanskriti – Celebrating Endangered Art Forms of Jammu


International Delhi Public School, Ghoumanhasan, conducted Sanjh Sanskriti under the banner of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, highlighting not just India’s cultural diversity but also the importance of sustainability and heritage preservation. The workshop focused on the endangered Calico art form of Samba, once practiced by skilled artisans of the region. Ms. Jyoti, the resource person, guided students through its history, technique, and cultural significance, offering a deeply enriching hands-on experience that connected young minds to their roots. Conducted under the aegis of INTACH, Jammu Chapter, the workshop saw enthusiastic participation from students of Heritage School, Jammu Sanskriti, APS Samba, APS Jammu Cantt, APS Damana, IDPS Akhnoor, Carmel Convent, KB Public School, DBN Amarvilla, and IDPS Ghoumanhasan. Sanjh Sanskriti marked a meaningful step towards preserving Jammu’s artistic heritage and inspiring the next generation with pride and awareness.
